Jakarta Disorda is Asked to Renovate 10 GORs

Jakarta Provincial Government is asked to renovate 10 sport centers (GOR) ahead of Asian Games 2018. According to the plan, renovated GOR will be used as training ground for athletes.

City got an additional work to renovate 10 GORs to be used as training ground

Jakarta Sports and Youth Dept. (Disorda) Head, Ratiyono said, his side is asked by Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) to renovate 10 GOR and build one softball field and one baseball field.

"City got an additional work to renovate 10 GORs to be used as training ground. They request to build it based on international standard," he said at City Hall, Thursday (6/8).

He admitted his side has already proposed to use existing GOR, but committee insisted to prepare international-based GOR.

"Renovation budget that we need reached Rp 52 billion," he said.

He mentioned 10 GORs that will be renovated are Pulogadung, Cempaka Putih, Sunter, Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Bulungan, Ragunan, Senen, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and East Jakarta GOR.

"Baseball and softball fields are located in Rawamangun," he added.

He explained it needs 6 months to renovate 10 GORs. Currently his side still is coordinating those 10 GORs renovation financing.

According to him, GORs are prepared for four sports consist of volley, basket ball, softball, and baseball.
